WHILE most emu farmers from the 1990s have taken flight, Penny Krstev has remained grounded.
During the 1990s at the height of emu farming, there were about 1800 emu farmers in Australia.
That number has dwindled to little more than a handful in Victoria, but that hasn’t deterred Penny Krstev.
The Macedonian-born emu producer retired to her 25ha property at Gisborne South 17 years ago with her husband and 24 emus.
